From Backend to Frontend, LiveTesting Makes Sure Every Part of the System Works as Expected
CHICAGO, October 11th, 2018 – InfoReach, Inc., has created a feature-rich LiveTesting framework that became an integral part of the software testing operation.
LiveTesting allows automation of user and system workflows via simple scripting. Test scripts are written in a domain specific language which is based on plain English, so no programming background is required to prepare them.
This has become an invaluable tool in hands of QA, support engineers, and developers by:
- Standardizing acceptance tests, alleviating ambiguity in the requirements for the developers
- Automating regression testing to ensure that the existing behavior is not affected when a new functionality is introduced into the trading system
- Speeding up the QA testing
- Simplifying automating otherwise time-consuming load, stress, throughput, latency testing of InfoReach software components, as well as testing of GUI responsiveness at various loads
Test scripts are automatically converted to machine executable code by InfoReach LiveTesting engine. InfoReach clients can also leverage LiveTesting in their own testing of the workflows that involve InfoReach products, for example, when it’s time to define a new use case or to make sure existing one works as intended.
LiveTesting framework is used to describe both generic and client-specific scenarios. InfoReach broadly uses it to perform functional and performance testing on the backend and frontend to make sure every part of the trading technology from the core business logic to every GUI function in a broker ALGO order entry ticket works as expected.
Alex Dolgin, Managing Director of European Operation at InfoReach, commented: “LiveTesting framework helps to reduce the cost and time of regression and performances testing, increases quality of the product and allows to keep delivering new features promptly.” All tests are run 24/7 on InfoReach’s Continuous Integration servers. The InfoReach team gets notifications instantly if any change leads to performance degradation or breaks any of the existing workflows. LiveTesting helps to scale the continued high quality standards of InfoReach products and services.
